The Recover CC3H Grip and Rail System will NOT fit on compact 1911's (if your pistol uses a 7 round magazine or the 8 round magazine does not sit flush with the frame then it is a compact and the CC3H is not compatible), do not purchase this product if you have a compact 1911. There are times that the CC3H will not fit properly on Rock Island Armory and Taurus PT1911 pistols, if you own a Rock Island or Taurus PT1911 and want to ensure a perfect fit, please purchase the CC3P Grip and Rail System which is also available on Amazon.

Frequently Asked Questions - Q. Are the CC3H grips fatter than standard grips?

A. They are not any thicker than standard grips

Q. Will these work on a Commander?

A. These will work on all full sized 1911 frames, ie frames that take 8 round magazines, the Commander frame is a full sized frame with a shorter barrel, therefore it will fit

Q. Are these sturdy enough to handle a light and hold 0?

A. The CC3H will hold 0 with a laser mounted and are even sturdy enough to use in conjunction with an upper rail

Q. I am concerned that these will damage my gun

A. There is no way for these to damage your gun, we use the same glass reinforced polymer that most firearm manufacturers use to make their polymer pistol frames.

Will fit, but might take some sanding to make it happen.

I have a Rock Island/Armscor 1911 A1-FS GI Series. I wanted to replace the wooden grips that the model came with, and selected these grips, because they provide a Picatinny Rail System, that the other grip systems do not. Before I go any further, I will say that these grips are an excellent choice for replacements. But I had to do some custom fitting. Read on.First, the top edge of the left-side grip interfered with the slide release/safety detent spring tube. Sanding that down allowed the left grip to snap into place easier.Second, on both grip halves, around the inside edge of the trigger guard, there is a raised ridge. Apparently, the gun's trigger guard is supposed to be slightly larger in order for it to fit properly around that ridge. Not so the Rock Island. The trigger guard and the ridge are the same size, interfered with each other, and prevented the two grip halves coming together. Again, sanding both ridges flat allowed both grip halves to come together properly.Last, on both grip halves, the top edges were tightly binding on the bottom edge of the slide. They were so tight that the slide would not move. Again, sanding these edges provided a clearance between the top edge of the grip halves, and the bottom edge of the gun's slide. In all, the work took about 30 minutes. And I'm completely pleased with the results. Your results may vary, and in fact, you may not need to do any of these modifications depending on the model 1911 you purchase. I would have given the system five stars if they had gone together without me having to work on them at all.

Increase grip size

I don’t have super big hands so this grip made it one size bigger. Installation was a breeze. It uses the original screws for the grip plates. Then the other two. Bolt and nut to secure the under the barrel and trigger guard.I wanted to have something for my Olight Baldr Pro and this was the only option I found anywhere that looks decent. I had a trigger guard mounted laser I bought from China it’s really lousy. It looses the zero no matter how many time you adjust it. Once you shoot, the impact and vibration just knocks it off focus. This grip is ok. Because it’s plastic the grip isn’t really firm. I wish it was a closer grip. In the description it says it will not increase grip size. Well, it did.I got the gray one and it went well with my stainless steel 1911 Colt S80 GovernmentAfter mounting the olight it’s pretty heavy. I have a 10 rd mag and the weight is close to a dessert eagle now.Yikes.

I rarely provide reviews, but in this case....

I was skeptical about adding a rail system to my Ruger 1911 Model: 6700 and searched for several months before deciding on the Recover Tactical CC3 Grip & Rail System. I had read all the reviews posted on Amazon for some time and decided to try it. The grip was easy to install and fit flush. The grip itself was slightly more narrow than the Hogue grips I had installed a year ago but slightly longer. The result for me is that the Recover grip design feels more comfortable and is easier to hold than the other grips I had tried. The only issue I had was with the grip screws that came standard with my gun. Two of them had broken while installing the new grips. This had nothing to do with the grip itself. I did not have to manhandle the Recover grips into the bushings like I did with my Hogue grips, the poor quality of the standard Ruger grip screws was responsible. I mention this because I was not sure how difficult it would be to replace them when they broke and was a little distressed and disappointed in Ruger. After some searching I discovered that you can order grip screw bushings and screws from several other providers on Amazon. I ended up ordering the Torx Grip screws seen in the photo I posted.I mounted a Ade Advanced Optics Tactical Compact Rail Mounted RED Laser Sight with 200 Lumen LED Flashlight to the rail and fired about 100 rounds at different variations from my 8 round magazine and was more than pleased with the result. I also fired about 50 rounds without the laser mounted and noticed an improved accuracy that I attribute to how well the grip fit my slightly larger hands.

Awesome Product

My weapon: Citadel Traditional Fullsize 1911-A1 9mm)Summary: Awesome product, looks and functions great, needs filing to fit properly, shipping was horrible.Fit: It "fit" the gun out of the box, however if I literally would have just taken it out of the box and left it as is the gun wouldn't of functioned. The slide rubbed it and the grip section was too thick to let the grips mate in the middle. The grips themselves are clearly made to be ground to fit per application there are "built up" areas of material around sections that can be easily filed for a custom fit. Bottom line is 45 minutes later and a pile of plastic these grips fit perfectly and look great.Function: The included hardware is functional and easy to install, the grips are not any wider than the set of hogue wrap around grips I took off to install them (they may feel "wider" to people who use panel grips as any wrap around grip does. I was going to stiple the grips when I got them but there is no need the raised grip texture is pretty effective. Feels good in the hand and the rail works perfectly. I have a laser/light combo on there fits perfect the gun does not feel significantly heavier than before even with the light/laser on it. These grips also surround the area where the slide release pin is and helps to keep you from scratching up the frame when you are taking it apart, added bonus.Aesthetics: Confirmed the factory picture does suck as I suspected and the grips are a much tougher looking dark OD green like they should be not the light olive looking color in the photos. The gun looks mean I really like the looks of these grips.Note: Let me say while the item is awesome shipping speed was horrendous it took it like 10 days to drive from LA to PDX which is literally as simple as saying leave LA get on the I5 and stop when you get to Portland 8 hours later... Its not like it came from Hong Kong, from which I have received products faster than I got this. Ill try to add a picture to the customer images.
