red laser does not set off laser targets

the red laser basic version does not set off laser targets ... tested against SIRT guns and laser sight lasers which work fine. Seems like the laser is just too weak.

Doesn't set off the IR light every time the trigger is pulled

Received the product with a dead battery. Went out and purchased a new battery for $10. Went to shoot and test the Training Pistol and noticed that the IR light wasn't shooting a pulse every time the trigger was pulled. Disappointing to see IR guns sell at such high prices but can't shoot a simple accurate IR pulse every time the trigger is pulled. At this rate, it's cheaper to buy a toy gun and just insert a IR laser into it. Or 3d print one like I have for under $20.

Great concept but the battery life is about 48 hours if it is setting idle

I purchased the basic red laser training gun for my first time students to build confidence in the classroom. They really seem to enjoy training with it for their grip, sight alignment and sight picture. Also shooting at the reactive target. My chief complaint is the battery life.I’ve only had it for a few weeks and the most trigger pulls have been 25-30 in a training session. I called Laser Ammo after my third battery in a single week. The answer I was given was to install the battery at the beginning and remove it at the end of each use. I was hoping for a more convenient solution.

Was promised red dot support but no results

I bought the PF30 Glock 17 from Laser Ammo and was giving a list of compatible dovetails for the red dot support they advertise. I was sent to Smart Firearms Mike Farrell who actually make the simulators. His list of matching dovetails did not match the list Laser Ammo had from him. Mike said he would check on that and get back with me, but never did. He said he would send to dovetail plates to test with for free. I sent him my address, but no plates ever came.

Very light trigger pull

Arrived with all batteries DEAD. I had to go buy new batteries which added about $15 to the price, plus my time, and the annoyance that it didn’t work out of the box. It’s lighter than a loaded pistol. The trigger pull is extremely light, which makes it less than ideal for dry fire training. I’m using it with the smokeless range software. The “shot” sound effects on the gun are lame and annoying. The trigger intrusion alarm seems to be a good concept for beginner training, and it can be shut off. The sites are good, and it was easy to zero the IR laser. The laser misfires occasionally, probably 1 out of 30 shots, another annoyance given the price. Finally, the ambidextrous mag release is more difficult to depress than on a real pistol, but functional. Should you buy it? It depends on what kind of training you mean to do with it, but for dry fire training there are better options for the price. If it were $150 I’d say it’s great, but it’s $365 (+$15 for new batteries) so I’m on day 1, but seriously considering returning it to Amazon. Will update if anything else comes up. PS: I have called LaserAmmo tech support in the past for other products, and they are very responsive and helpful with outstanding customer service.
