Opt for CO2.

The 1911 itself looked top notch, and the weight is very comparable to my actual 1911, the recoil feels more like a .380 then a .45 acp. The big factor I'd have to say that's a negative is the green gas magazines they are hard to Guage, sometimes you can get quite a few shots, and sometimes you just get 2. When firing multiple times the magazine had malfunctioned and let all the gas out. They do have the option for CO2 magazines which are a lot better and last longer. Recoil also has more of a bite to it. As I was going through the safeties of the 1911 I noticed that it has a failure to keep from firing when the hammer is in the half cocked position. Another thing I noticed is there is a lot of oil that comes out when shot. For these reasons I have to give it a 3 out of 5. Not to say I don't reccomend this it does help to hone in on your technique.

The 1911 is not great

This is a review of the 911 Laser Ammo Trainer. This is my first Laser Ammo trainer, so I don't have anything to compare it to. That said, I'm pretty disappointed. On the positive side, the pistol feels real. Good weight, solid trigger, good recoil system. As a simulated weapon it's great.Where it falls down is the laser trainer. First, the sights are terrible. Maybe they are pretending to be mil-spec, I don't know. Either way, they are completely unusable and non-replaceable. I took a file and opened up the rear notch a lot, but they are still terrible. Next, the laser system is part of the barrel, and the barrel does not lockup when the slide is in battery. It just floats around due to the wide tolerances of the system. The result is terrible accuracy. Between the sights and laser, the trainer is useless for anything other than close-up simulations. My final complaint is with the laser system itself. The laser is not particularly bright, so my camera has a hard time picking it up. (To be fair, I don't have another laser trainer to compare it to, so weigh my opinion appropriately.)My other gripe is that the manufacture recommends removing the batteries after every session. Doing this is a real pain. You have to unscrew the laser from the barrel which messes up the zero. Then the battery itself is tiny, making it easy to misplace. It is not an elegant system. But you have to do all this because the battery is proprietary, and the only source for replacements is the manufacture.Overall, not a good purchase. I don't recommend it.

Perfect for in home practice!

Doesn't make much noise, but helps condition yourself not to react to the discharge of the gun. Accurate and on the money - checked the sights in a gun vice - spot on! Using the IR laser with a laser target, I've seen improvement within a week. Went to the range and saw marked improvement in my scores

Does not work as described!

The laser is incredibly inconsistent. The blowback runs through a fully charged cartridge after only a few shots and seems to be inconsistent with the number of shots your able to achieve before the cartridge runs empty. I returned the three guns I purchased and the seller fradulently charged a restocking fee. Do not believe the description on these items!

Just Like The Real 1911

I am thoroughly happy with the Laser Ammo Recoil Enabled 1911.The weight, frame, slide and functions are the same as the real 1911.Mine came with two magazines that use green gas.I use Laser Ammo's PET2 target and love it.
